Work plan of 2nd project meeting
According to project working plan the second project meeting will be held in ÖZEL FENER RUM ORTAOKULU and all partner schools are invited to attend. The project meeting will start on May 9th, 2022 and finish five days later on 13rd. Find daily activities schedule below:

09/05/2022 – First day
On Monday morning all partner students and teachers met at Özel Fener Rum Ortaokulu school, where they were welcomed by the Headmaster and introduced to teachers and students. The Headmaster started with his welcome speech at the opening ceremony and the Deputy Headmaster welcomed all delegations. Partner school representatives delivered a personal message. Schools and cities were presented and outdoor teaching activities carried out. After the break students played icebreaking games and participated in activities at the school yard. Later a workshop on documentary making (by Emrah Tezer, documentary director) was realized and students enjoyed it very much.
10/05/2022 – Second day
On Tuesday, after arriving at the school, the group visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate and was accepted by His All-Holliness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew who addressed and blessed us all. A walking tour followed to the FenerBalat area, next to the Golden Horn gulf, where the group visited the Bulgarian Orthodox church of Saint Stephen, the Ahrida Synagogue, the church of Saint Demetrios Xyloportas and the church of the Virgin Vlachernae. During the tour the students had an outdoor Greek History lesson. After the tour there was lunch at school. The day’s programme closed with two outdoor lessons, the 1st on Mixtures and the 2nd on the Isoskeles Right Trian-gle.
11/05/2022 – Third day
On Wednesday, the group went on a cruise to the Adalar islands. The 1st stop was at the island of Heybeliada (Halki) where we walked to the Theological School of Halki and the Holy Trinity Monastery. There we were welcomed by the abbot of the monastery and learnt about the History of the Theological School of Halki. In the gardens of the monastery the students had two outdoor lessons, one of Biology (Identifying plants) and the second on the Solar System. The trip continued to Buyukada (Pringipos), the largest island of the Adalars, where we walked to the top of the hill to visit the Monastery of Saint George Koudounas, a sacred place for both Christians and Muslims. An English outdoor lesson was held there (Writing Haiku).
12/05/2022 – Forth day
On Thursday a visit to the Town hall of the Fatih District where the group was received by the spokesman of the mayor of the city and greetings were exchanged. Afterwards, we had a guided tour around Istanbul’s greatest monuments Agia Sophia, the old Hippodrome of Constantinople, the Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.
13/05/2022 – Final day
On Friday, the final day, the students were divided in three groups and participated in the city game, which was a game of knowledge and awareness on what they had seen and learnt about the City during the previous days. The winning group received presents. Teachers met at school and discussed the project’s future activities and plans. The final outdoor lesson was a Physical education lesson for students and teachers. A farewell party followed where food and drinks were prepared and provided by the students’ parents. The week’s work was closed with the distribution of Attendance Certificates to all the participants. The Evaluation of the meeting was carried out online.
